Girls’ Vision for the Future

This year, the theme of International Day of the Girl is “Girls’ Vision for the Future.” At Flourish, we love hearing about the girls’ hopes and dreams, and we know that their goals will help to change the world.

We asked some of our summer Flourish Course participants what they want to see happen in the future. Here are their responses.

Some of my goals for the future include girls being able to feel 100% safe and not judged for doing anything.
— G
I wanna see gender equality, the gender pay gap closed, stereotypes overruled, girls feeling comfortable in their own skin.
— E
Being able to walk down the street without feeling insecure or judged or watched by people. Having free period products and hygiene products.
— N
I want to get better at crochet, and do good in my part in my school musical. I want to be a Broadway musical theatre or voiceover actor.
I hope I can get better at being confident around people, and keep up my connections with people.
— E
I wish people with learning disabilities/autism/mental health issues wouldn’t get bullied and get treated the same as ‘normal’ people.
