The Flourish Team

  • Char oversees the direction of Flourish, looking at how it can best support girls in the community. She also builds partnerships and networks with professionals and local businesses who support girls and want to support the work of Flourish.

“I love that we can help girls when life can feel overwhelming or lonely and support them get to where they want to be. It's the best thing when a girl we are supporting realises that they are amazing, has huge potential and feels confident with the right tools to face their challenges.”

When not at work: I love swimming and I’m hoping to pluck up the courage next year to start wild swimming!

  • Helen creates new resources and content, delivering workshops and leading groups, as well as mentoring and working alongside young people on a variety of projects.

“I’m incredibly passionate about helping young people to feel seen, supported and empowered. I feel so lucky to work in this amazing team with the combined skills to make that happen.”

When not at work: I’m a huge fan of chatting in coffee shops and love sharing stories about my two cute (but naughty) cats!

  • Caroline has been with Flourish since 2019. Her role involves office management, data and financial reporting, supporter relations and overseeing the administration team.

“I’m extremely passionate about Flourish’s ability to match incredible local women with girls who need them, providing them with a space to be heard and the opportunity to be supported through whatever is troubling them and holding them back. I love working with an immensely talented, caring and committed team who make it all happen day by day.”

When not at work: I love exploring new places and especially like camping adventures, preferably by the sea. I also enjoy the odd competitive family game!

  • Anna makes sure the referral process runs as smoothly as possible, liaising with parents, schools, and our wonderful volunteer mentors.

“The best part of the process is when we’re able to match a girl with one of our mentors and then we hear how well the first session went – it’s always a happy moment. I absolutely love working for Flourish as I believe in everything we do. We have incredible resources and I know first-hand how special our mentees feel as the sessions progress.”

When not at work: One of my favourite hobbies is baking...and I quite like eating too!

  • Sarah's job is to organise and run the Flourish group mentoring programmes with the support of our incredible volunteer group mentors.

"I am thrilled to be able to run our Flourish Course and Rebuild Course programmes in schools and the community to support girls in the local area. It's great to see them make new friends as they learn ways to build their self-esteem and embrace their uniqueness."

When not at work: I like to spend time with my adorable rescue dog, Dotty!

  • Ruth’s job is to help Flourish become informed about how trauma affects the girls we see, and to help make Flourish sessions as safe as they can be for every girl who comes through. She also mentors girls who may been struggling due to traumatic experiences in childhood.

“I love working with the girls to help them understand just how amazing they are, and learn that their brains can re-learn how to respond to life so that they can regain some control.”

When not at work: I enjoy being with my dogs and crocheting…preferably at the same time!
